Stenciling is Life

OK - Maybe I am being a bit dramatic, but I just love what a change stenciling can make. It's like wallpaper, but better. You know when you meet someone and everything is perfect and great and so you become besties....then you see them kick a puppy and you decide your friendship is over?? Then you have this messy painful breakup - you feel like you are pealing wallpaper off of a wall. It takes so long and it's so messy. But you don't need a messy breakup with a stencil, it's clean and quick - like a Hollywood divorce.

Look at these changes:

Before:

This wall had an over-sized piece of furniture on the wall that overwhelmed the room. Very drab white walls everywhere!!!

After:

So I added color and a cute cute stencil:

Bedrooms are my favorite place for stencils - but I just love a good stencil anyway. When it's in the bedroom it's like it is your own piece of artwork.

Before:

I changed the furniture and moved the bed to the other side of the room, Look how small this bedroom looks, the furniture is the wrong size and heavy looking.

After:

The changes are so dramatic to me. I had fully saturated walls and then added a multi colored stencil to give a look of class. Properly placed furniture and furniture that fits the space make a huge difference.

Before:

My bedroom bliss wasn't happening with this color scheme - I wanted tranquil and understated.

This room was dark and uninspiring and the ceilings seemed low.

After:

I lightened up the walls and made a delightful headboard (I'm sure you read that blog), and then decided to stencil the wall. It's one of my favorite stencils, I love scrolls.

Love and Bacon and Sex!!!

I also used that same stencil in my friends house, but with opposite colors. Black and white - super dramatic and cute. A favorite bathroom of mine!!

Since everyone reads all of my blogs you already know that stencils are not just for walls, I made a dramatic change to my bathroom floor! Bungalow-HELLO!!

Before:

It's just sad...

TAAA_DAA!!!!!

A total favorite - I will definitely do this to any boring tile floor that I own in the future!

Stenciling is an easy fun way to change up any room, it's also inexpensive. I can usually knock it out in a day or two, depending on the size of the wall/floor - I am also pretty good at choosing a stencil that will add to the decor that you already have. Give me a call and we can figure it out.
