Updating Your Home With Fresh Paint 2018

So many people ask what they can do make a big change to a room without doing major renovation. The answer is paint and decor! You can change a whole room just by changing a wall color and adding new decor. Trending wall colors are very bold; green, blue, purple and even black. I especially love the greens - they can be bold, have a blue hue to them, they can be cool or warm - there are so many choices. Look - aren't they pretty? But how do I use them in my home?

But how do I apply them in my home, you ask? You can saturate all of your walls with color or you can choose to have an accent wall. This is my fave! So rich and so warm.

Even though it is a dark color the room doesn't feel dark because of the white bedspread! When you choose a bold accent color you can also choose bold accents - look at that rug! Very trendy!

This is a very fun color - and I love that it goes so well with grey. Just a sweet little pop of color adds so much dimension to this room.

Maybe bold isn't for you but you love the greens, try this lovely mint color. I love the softness of it. You don't have to go bold to make a statement.

So you're saying, "I love the bold colors, but I'm not ready to paint my walls that color". Use a bold colors as an accent, for instance this comforter is EVERYTHING!!!!

Let's take a look at some more saturated walls, I just love them.

So Purpley! Talk about fully saturated color - it has a very shabby chic look to it, and I really want to sit on that couch!

This room looks like a fabulous New York apartment, something straight out of Sex and the City! Very very very trendy - do you have the nerve to do this strong of a color with a couch like that?

OOOOOOOLALALALALA! Loving this color! Not only do I love the color but also I love how amazing the gold looks on it! I am loving that gold is making a come back.

Here's another example of gold and blue - I am all over this midnight blue! Take a look at how the room doesn't feel dark and closed in. Dark bold colors have gotten a bad rap for making a room look small, but using white with the midnight blue keeps this room feeling very open.

Midnight blue with gold stenciling - stunning!

Aren't those colors dramatic? But if you think those colors are dramatic, how about black walls? Do you dare? Every wall is black - great for an office, waiting room, wine or poker room! The wood plank floor is a great use of finishes to keep the room from looking to formal.

What a cute, fun, grown up teen room! Lighten up the feel of a black room with a cute light fixture and a fuzzy fun poof. I just love a cute poof!

How GORG is this? This is a very tall room which makes it perfect for black paint at the top. Normally black paint at the top of a room will make it seem like the ceiling has been lowered, so if you have beautiful high ceilings like this you may want to consider this style. And can we talk about that tile?????? Cha cha cha - so pretty!

I'm not sure if I love the pendant light or if I love the black paint! Maybe it's both - it has a 1980's feel to it, and I am a product of the 80's so I can't help myself. But it's still super pretty and the table gives it a nice contemporary vibe.

Making the choice to go bold can be very scary, but I am here to walk you thru the entire change. You will end up with a home that isn't like everyone else's home - a home that is a reflection of you - a Simply Chic Home!
